New Title

I graduated in Conservation and Restoration of the BB. CC., Single Cycle Master's Degree Course, Specialization: Painted wooden and textile artefacts, Hand-carved wooden artefacts, Furniture and wooden structures, Manufacture of synthetic materials, assembled and/or painted, class LMR/02, (pursuant to Legislative Decree n.42/2004), University of Palermo, in collaboration with the Regional Department for Cultural Heritage and Sicilian Identity, through the Regional Center for Design and Restoration (CRPR) of Palermo (Sicily).

The training course, divided into lectures and practical restoration activities, has provided me with humanistic, scientific and technical contents, as well as specific professional knowledge to operate with decisional and operational autonomy to define the state of conservation of the artifacts and implement actions prevention, maintenance and restoration, aimed at limiting the degradation processes of the constituent materials and ensuring their conservation contextualizing the artistic and cultural value of the works.

After the conclusion of the training course I had the opportunity to take care of two restoration interventions (on site): a polychrome wooden sculpture depicting St. Michael the Archangel, attributed to Filippo Quattrocchi, from the late 1700s to the early 1800s, kept at the Chiesa Madre S Ambrogio di Cerami (En); a painting on canvas of the early '800 depicting Pope Pius VII, kept at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Nicosia (En). I also collaborated with the restorer Sabrina Sottile in the intervention of conservative restoration (on site) of a seventeenth-century altarpiece on canvas depicting the Madonna del Carmine with Santa Teresa d'Avila and Santa Maria Maddalena de 'Pazzi, kept in the Church of the Carmine of Palermo.

Further skills were acquired through participation in the restoration course of the great wooden works of the Sicilian Baroque, which had as its object the restoration of the wooden choir of the cathedral of Ragusa Ibla, and through the participation in a project of Mobility for abroad called "DEVELOP 2020", which allowed me to carry out a three-month internship at the Center de Restauraciò de Bèns Mobles de Catalunya.

This last experience has given me a good knowledge of the Spanish and Catalan language that are combined with a good command of English and IT, good communication skills, flexibility and adaptation to new situations and multicultural environments, a good ability to work in a team and to good organizational, coordination and management skills.
